Two points behind him stands Arjun Erigaisi, who was the top scorer on Tuesday, as he won three games and lost one to collect nine points in rounds 9-12. With three rounds to go in the preliminaries, the likes of Anish Giri, Levon Aronian and Leinier Dominguez are in danger of not finishing above the cut-off line.
