CM Robert Mcligeyo and WFM Sasha Mongeli shone brightly at the 2024 Kenya National Chess Championship, held in Nairobi. Mcligeyo, aged 18, clinched the Open title with eight points, earning a brand-new Nissan Note, while dethroning defending champion Joseph Methu in a stellar performance. In the women’s section, Mongeli defended her title, triumphing after a tiebreak with a score of 7/9.
